Hello UCO supporters.
We ended June on a high note – one of our families moved into a new apartment. The single mother and her three children were in the process of being evicted from their home and received their keys to their new apartment on June 27th. We submitted payments to turn on the utilities in their new home, as well as giving them a microwave and bedding from our storage.
On the last Sunday in June, our team gave out over 180 sack lunches and 120 grocery bags to our guests who are experiencing homelessness.

Chef Melody and her team made turkey salad sandwiches and volunteer Margaret made her energy cookies for the lunches.

We also gave over 40 grocery packs to housed UCO and DAYS Long Beach families and individuals. We were closed yesterday for the July 4th holiday.
During the month of July, we are changing things up a bit for our guests by providing sponsored lunches from local restaurants.
Thank you for your support in allowing us to improve the lives of people who are homeless and others who are in need.
Stay safe.
