“At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” – Albert Schweitzer
As we wind down November, we give special thanks to all of our UCO supporters. It is your support that enabled us to give out 600 hot meals this month, snack bags, blankets, much needed shoes and coats and so much more.
And we still have one more Sunday in November! This Sunday, will be UCO’s Traditional Thanksgiving meal for our clients. This year the meals will be in “To Go” containers but will still contain Mel’s amazing turkey with all of the traditional fixings.
We have been busy helping people with rental assistance. We anticipate that need will increase as we head into what appears to be another round of COIVD shutdowns. We hope that you stay safe and stay home whenever possible.
This week we are asking for your help in collecting peach/fruit cups, mac n cheese, tuna, spam (or other canned meats with pop off lids) and bottled water. Donations may be dropped off at our alley door on Saturday, 10 am to 11 am. UCO staff will set up a table in the doorway at the second alley door and donors are asked to put donations on the table. Staff will remain on the other side of the table and keep a safe distance from donors. We also need gently used shoes as requests are increasing for this much needed item.
As always, thank you for the love and support you give to UCO. We are so thankful!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Ann
