Greetings from the Drop-in Center,

Thanks to our generous donors, for the wonderful donations that helped us feed 522 of our unhoused friends and families in February. Comfort food, comfort pajamas, comfort everything. The cold and rainy month of February allowed us all of this comfort. Indeed, we are grateful to be in our warm homes cuddled up with our favorite anything. We also realize how blessed we are when we see images of those just trying to find a place to stay warm.

We were so grateful, that despite the cold weather, our unhoused friends were well taken care of. Thanks to our supporters, we received donated coats, knitted scarfs and hats, and received large donations of soup along and monetary donations. We all know “it is better to give than to receive,” and our donors truly lived up to this very important message.

Thank you as always to our donors, and remember we are at the Drop-in Center every Saturday 10-11:30 a.m. for drop-off donations. Many of you have asked what we need most. The list is below, but keep in mind we are grateful for any donations.

Bottled water, canned goods (with flip lids) such as meats, tuna, fruits and soups. Unused blankets, socks and jackets.

Our Housing Specialist Celia Guerrero was able to help a young woman with her rent after she had to take a short break from her job for medical reasons. Celia continues to assist clients to locate permanent housing utilizing the housing voucher, answer the busy UCO phone and assist clients with resources, work with referrals that are submitted from Unite Us, assist our current UCO clients, and work with our partners in assisting our clients.
