Dear Community Partners,

April 21, 2018 Urban Community Outreach will be holding our annual event. This year it will be “Heart of Broadway”, A fundraising dinner supporting a new start for the homeless and working poor of Long Beach! We ask for your support with auction items, sponsorships, and to join us in attendance in order to provide needed services for Long Beach working poor residents and those experiencing homelessness.

This year we are honoring our Long Beach Mayor, Robert Garcia; Tony Cruz, former Olympian and professional bikeracer; and Performance Team, a leading logistics/transportation company.

We are one of the few organizations that provides free services to people living below the poverty level and those who are homeless in Long Beach. UCO’s reason for existence is to welcome, nourish, inspire, educate, set goals and the steps necessary to attain them, provide needed healthcare, motel and transportation vouchers, teach job skills, assist with childcare, and ultimately permanent housing as we mobilize people upwards to an enriched life in the community as happy, productive citizens.

We have so many families. Single parent families with a women as the head of the household find it particularly hard to get by. Many seniors also need the help because of being on a fixed income and housing so high. We provide all with warm nourishing meals, resources and referrals and help them to compete in the job market with computer and food service skills, give them access to a computer lab, store their documents, give them healthcare, refer for dental screening and care, childcare assistance, provide motel vouchers, and permanent housing assistance. With your help we can do even more to lift people out of poverty and homelessness in 2018.

We are in our second year of ENRICH, an expanded program with our community partners to include services and full holistic care for mentally ill and addicted individuals bringing them into permanent housing and a whole new life.

We need your help to make Long Beach a better place for all.  Here are ways to help.  Sponsors click here  Call office at (562) 582-1000 or my cell at (562) 714-1155 to respond or ask questions.

Best,
